Cara Kerja GPS

Global Positioning System (GPS) is a global coordinate system that can determine the coordinates of the position of the object anywhere on earth either latitude, longitude, and altitude. This technology has become the standard for use in the world of shipping and aviation in the world. We also can use it for our own needs.
GPS systems can provide data global coordinates because they are supported by information from the existing 24 satellites orbit at an altitude of about 11,000 miles above the earth. The satellites orbit is divided into 6 different fields with each field filled by 4 satellite orbit. With this configuration, then any point on earth always going to be determined by the GPS coordinates at any time during the 24 hours per day.
GPS technology was originally used for military purposes. Provider of GPS satellites for the system to the world is the U.S. government. Besides the U.S., formerly the Russian / Soviet Union also owns and develops a system like this. Now the European Union also wished to have and provide its own similar system.
GPS technology is freely used by anyone in the world for free from a GPS receiver. GPS receiver is a device that can receive signals of GPS satellites and then calculate the coordinates of the position itself based on existing data.
How GPS Receivers Work
Each GPS satellite transmits microwave signals. GPS receivers using the satellite signal to triangulate position by measuring the long passage of time signals transmitted from satellites, then multiply by the speed of light to determine precisely how far he was from the satellite.
By locking the minimum three signals from different satellites, the GPS receiver can calculate its position remains a point of latitude and longitude coordinates (Latitude & Longitude). Locking signal to-4 satellite which makes the aircraft GPS receiver can calculate the height of that point towards the sea front (Altitude).GPS receivers will continue to maintain and lock the satellite signals required to perform triangulation together and parallel. With this system, the navigation information received will be kept up to date.
GPS receivers also will continue to search for satellite signals so that gets 10 to 12 satellite signals simultaneously. Additional channel satellite signal can be processed so that the coordinate data obtained will be more reliable and better accuracy.
